Anti-Federalist State: New York New York was a part of the first 13 colonies located in the middle colonies. New York is mostly made up of manufacturing and agriculture. It had a lot of fertile land that was extremely good for farming. They grew things such as grain and oats. New York had a coast which developed many sea ports. New York also had a lot of shipbuilding and created a lot of iron items. New York was also extremely diverse. They had Dutch, French and English people populating its land. Overall New York was one of the more successful colonies. Background: He was born July 29, 1739. At age 18 he enlisted in the English arm to fight in the French and Indian war. He then studied law and became a clerk of common law in New York. In 1770 he married Sarah Cornelia Tappen and had six children together. In 1777 he was the first person to be elected as Governor of New York. He held the position of Governor for 21 years total. In 1085 he was in office as the fourth Vice president of the United States. On April 20, 1812 his term as the fourth Vice president ended as he had a heart attack and died. Constitutional Convention:
